About me
Thank you for reading my profile. I am a qualified adult and child and young person counsellor available to provide face to face counselling sessions in the Cheltenham and Gloucester area. I also work online so wherever you are, location need not be an issue - if you feel I could be the right counsellor for you please get in touch.
It's a big step to reach out and ask for help. It is my aim to support you as you take this important step to learn more about yourself, understand yourself better and, where appropriate, support you to feel empowered to make any changes you might identify you need to make. The therapeutic relationship we develop together in our sessions will be at the centre of the work we do.
During the initial session I invite you to share information about yourself and to explain what you would like to achieve from your counselling sessions. Together we will find out how it feels to be in each other's company and whether I am the 'right fit' for you to continue sessions with me as your counsellor.
I am an integrated counsellor, trained in person-centred and psychodynamic theories. I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you, treating you with respect and showing empathy and understanding at all times. You are in control in the sessions and I use my understanding of counselling theory to support you the best way I can.
I also like to offer creative ways of working where that's appropriate and where it will support you to find ways to express yourself when perhaps words alone are not enough. I am a member of the Creative Counsellors CIC.
