About me
Thank you for reading my profile. I am a qualified adult and child and young person counsellor available to provide face to face counselling sessions in the Cheltenham, Gloucester and Forest of Dean area. I also work online so wherever you are, location need not be an issue - if you feel I could be the right counsellor for you please get in touch.
It's a big step to reach out and ask for help. In the initial session clients are invited to share information about themselves and why they are seeking support through counselling. Together we will find out how it feels to be in each other's company and whether I am the 'right fit' for counselling sessions to continue.
I am an integrated counsellor, trained in person-centred and psychodynamic theories. I believe that in trying to understand the issues facing us in the present it often helps to understand our past relationships and in particular the relationship a person had with their main caregivers whilst growing up. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients, treating them with respect and showing empathy and understanding at all times.
The relationship we develop in our sessions will be at the centre of the work we do together. It is my aim to support clients as they take this important step to learn more about themselves, understand themselves better and, where appropriate, support clients to feel empowered to make the necessary changes they may identify for themselves.
I am also a creative counsellor and a member of the Creative Counsellors CIC. I am able to offer creative ways of working that supports clients to find ways to express themselves when perhaps words alone are not enough.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
