About me

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS).

I aim to create a space that is safe, respectful, authentic, and collaborative. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is core to the therapeutic process, and I believe it is crucial we can work together towards empowering you to make the changes you are looking for.

I have a warm, collaborative and integrative therapeutic approach, drawing on various psychological models in accordance with your unique needs and goals. It is a priority for me to put your experiences first, to understand your strengths and struggles, and to tailor the work we do together to your needs and goals.

As an integrative psychologist, I draw on various psychological models and theories grounded in scientific evidence and adapt these in accordance with your unique needs and goals. These models include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).

I offer sessions either online via Microsoft Teams, or face-to-face, depending on your preference. I offer late afternoon and evening appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Starting therapy

Deciding to start therapy can feel challenging. For some, it is a big decision and commitment to make. For this reason, I offer a free initial 20 minute conversation by phone or by video conference to answer any questions you have and to help you make an informed decision around starting therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I currently work part-time within an NHS specialist service.

My clinical experience to date includes working with adults, families, children, and adolescents both within public health services (NHS) and in mental health charity organisations. Within the NHS, I have worked in a range of services within primary and secondary specialist care services. I have worked with people experiencing a range of issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, phobias, relationship issues, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and complex trauma.

I have also had several years’ experience working as a service manager in residential and supported living services for a UK charity organisation. We supported young people and adults with complex mental health difficulties including those diagnosed with personality disorder, psychosis, and those with a history of complex trauma. The main aim was to support our service users to work towards their personalised goals and life aspirations through group therapy and one-to-one work.

Training

- Post-graduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Psychosis and Bi-polar Disorder

- Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (DPsych)

- Masters in Counselling for Adults (MA)

- BSc (hons) Psychology

I am also a qualified yoga teacher, and I am interested in the link between mind and body and supporting people to think about their emotional wellbeing holistically.
