About me
Hello, my name is Sukhi. Taking the step to seek out a psychotherapist is a courageous and significant investment in yourself. It's essential to find a therapist who is a right fit for you, to support you when life feels really tough and is causing you anxiety, stress or low mood. I believe the success of therapy relies heavily on the quality of the relationship we build, and how we use our connection to work together to create a supportive and effective therapeutic experience tailored to your needs.
General Information
I am an integrative psychotherapist, who has been providing psychotherapy for over ten years. I work with the ‘relationship’ at the core of my therapeutic approach, whilst the relationship we have with our family, friends and work colleagues is important, the most crucial relationship we nurture is the one we have with ourselves. I believe that early childhood experiences can unconsciously shape the adult we become and how we, as individuals, relate to being a part of this world. We may have adopted coping strategies in our early years, that served us well then, but might not be helpful to us in the here and now.
My expertise extends to assisting parents with concerns about their attachment bonds with their children; my aim is to help nurture a sensitively attuned parent-child relationship. I am also interested in exploring issues related to generational oppression and the concept of intersubjectivity. As an Asian woman navigating an ever-evolving landscape, I understand the unique challenges we face. How can we construct a bridge that supports personal growth and independence, while preserving our cultural heritage?
Experience
I have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and am proficient in providing therapeutic dialogues in my mother tongue, Punjabi, and can also extend my services to those who speak Hindi and Urdu.
I have worked as a Parent Infant Psychotherapist at Northampton Parent Infant Psychotherapy (Norpip) and Sound Foundations Early Intervention Hub. My professional journey has encompassed various roles, including supporting vulnerable Asian women at the Sahil Project in Coventry, assisting individuals navigating complex bereavement at the Myton Hospice, as well as other mental health organisations.

BACP Accredited Member
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My approach to the first session acknowledges the challenges of seeking support, especially if it's a new experience for you. It can be daunting to find someone who can meet both your articulated needs and the unspoken ones.
I extend an invitation to you to schedule a complimentary, no-obligation 30-minute online appointment. This introductory session allows us to connect and see if my therapeutic approach aligns with your expectations and we can establish our working relationship.

Practice description
My therapeutic approach is primarily conducted online, and I have seamlessly integrated this method into my practice. For individuals who may find it challenging to share their thoughts and feelings, the convenience of participating in therapy from their own confidential and secure environment can be a valuable asset. When it comes to Parent-Infant therapy, this approach offers the advantage of avoiding the need to manage the logistics of bringing their babies to in-person sessions.
How I work
My approach to my work is rooted in offering you a safe and nurturing space to explore your true self – the person you aspire to become. It can be quite challenging to fully embrace your authentic self when external expectations and demands shape your identity. Many individuals may find themselves living their lives without a deep understanding of who they are, why they behave the way they do, or why they encounter difficulties in their relationships.
As a relational attachment-focused integrative psychotherapist, I draw upon the wealth of knowledge and experiences I have gathered over the years to connect with the real you. My ultimate goal is to create an environment where you can uncover unconscious patterns, fostering greater self-awareness and enabling you to live consciously and purposefully.
