About me
Hello, welcome to my profile.
Over the past few years, I have supported clients in understanding their anxiety and moving through depression and traumas (big or small). I have worked with individuals who identify as neuro-diverse (ADHD or Autistic spectrum) and supported them in finding their own ways to understand and regulate their emotions. I also work with LGBT+ as an ally. I offer emotional support through grief and loss in a way that is warm, gentle, and, if it resonates with you, spiritual.
Grief counselling includes the loss of a loved one, of a relationship, of who you thought you were, of a belief system (religion or others), a change of lifestyle, or moving country.
The session can be in English and in Italian.
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist with 8 years of experience. I identify as a highly sensitive person and I understand what is it like to often feel in a way that seems "bigger" or "deeper", when others around seem to be better at "just getting on with things".
I want you to know that your rhythm and pace will be valued in therapy; you will be validated in getting in touch with your experience and what feels right for you; the session will be at the depth that you wish it to be at.
I work in a non-directive way, unless you are in crisis (in which case, you will be asked a few more questions about your mental health and habits); non-directive means that I listen to you to understand what truly matters to you, how you feel, how you see the world. I consider every emotions a precious portal to understanding my clients and, when appropriate, I offer tools that may help you to deepen in making sense of how you feel.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process in which we can find out together the best way for you to get where you want to go, and, if you don't know that yet, it will allow space for you to BE and figure it out, in your own time, if you want to.
I believe that there is nothing to fix or inherently flawed about anyone's true nature. Therapy can help bring to your awareness what is currently causing you pain and offer a space to heal that. I don't have all the answers and I am not the perfect therapist.
Sessions can be done in video call, in person in a traditional counselling room and in nature (walking therapy).
If you find yourself experiencing anxiety, feeling that you are never good enough, or never do enough, overeating or seeking constant validation and never sure if you said or did the right thing, therapy with me may be a good choice for you.
I have experience in working with clients who have a tendency to be codependent in relationships, living below their potential due to low self-esteem, who have been through abusive relationships (whether they were abused or the abuser), who feel emptiness and a sense of being lost, and who are often there for others but feel that they cannot rely on anyone.
In my experience, I have witnessed how healing comes from learning how to understand and connect with our inner world with acceptance of who we truly are, at the depth that anyone is capable of.
I offer a therapeutic space to start or continue your journey of self-discovery. I work in an integrative way, my base approach is person-centered, informed by Dynamic emotional integration and Inner-child therapy.
My therapeutic approach is effective in helping you to recognise, understand and process your feelings and your needs and find effective ways to express them; understand and undo the conditioning that may be the cause of feelings of not belonging and belief that you are not deserving of love and acceptance; understand why you feel and behave in certain ways; understand and work with your triggers; develop empathy and deep self-acceptance.
This can facilitate your reconnecting with your self-worth, and overcoming low self-esteem. Feeling a sense of self-worth is going to allow you to set boundaries and deal with relationship issues differently.
Ultimately this therapeutic work may result in a feeling of freedom and a desire of being unapologetic about who you are, which cannot be undone. This process may bring up some fears and resistance.
Please contact me via email with any questions and to arrange an initial 20-minute consultation.
I would be honored to be your companion on this journey.
Best wishes
Stefania

I work in a collaborative and non-directive way as this has proven effective in the empowerment of my clients; this way of working also resonates with my believes and my personality. When needed, I can offer suggestions or practices that may benefit you. You can choose what to take from what I offer, It is about your truth and what resonates with it at this moment in time.
While you understand why you feel and behave in certain ways, you can begin to identify if there are patterns that you would like to change.
For example, when you really understand why you keep returning to an unhealthy relationship and start feeling compassion for yourself, you may consider the possibility of meeting your underlying needs in a more empowered and self-caring way. Part of this process is to develop empathy towards self, deep self-acceptance, and, ultimately, self-trust.
Therapy with me can help clients to become aware of and undo the conditioning that may be the cause of feelings of not belonging and being undeserving of love and acceptance; it can help to challenge the -ism that may have been introjected from society and come to a more authentic view of themselves and the world around.
I can hold space to explore spirituality and existential questions shall the client wish to do so.
Therapy can facilitate reconnecting with ones self-worth, and overcoming low self-esteem. Feeling a sense of self-worth is going to allow you to set boundaries and deal with relationship issues differently. It all starts with you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
