About me

Hello and welcome, I am Stacey, and I am a fully qualified counsellor with a real passion for improving and supporting our mental health and well-being. Life can present challenges and the turbulence of these challenges can be overwhelming and may impact negatively on our mental health. Counselling with me will offer you a safe space where you will be free to explore these challenges, and hopefully together we can help you understand what's going on for you.

It’s important you feel comfortable and safe with your therapist, therefore I will invite you to a free 15-minute consultation where we can informally discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our sessions. This will also give you an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have.

Although I am qualified as a person centred counsellor, I will work with an integrative approach with you; drawing on various modalities depending on what issues you are facing. There is no "one size fits all" and each of my clients will experience an individual approach, I offer trust, empathy and gentle understanding whilst withholding your confidentiality. I work with adults and young people from aged 11 in my private practice and am employed in a secondary school as the school counsellor dealing with complex trauma, abuse, grief, anxiety, bullying and day to day stress in work or relationships.

My aim is to support you whilst you release the issues which are affecting your life, in a safe, supportive, and healing environment with an experienced therapist. The process of healing comes when we start to understand ourselves and can make sense of our issues. I will do this by building confidence and trust in our work, showing you warmth and empathy, to enable you to feel empowered to realise your inner wisdom, using your knowledge and insight to make positive choices going forward, leading to a sense of wellbeing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
