About me
You may be struggling with a particular issue, or you may wish to explore ways to bring greater meaning to your life. Either way, choosing to engage with therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important to find the right therapist for you.
I work relationally, and use a psychodynamic approach. Put simply, this means that we will explore together the ways in which you have dealt with experiences and relationships in the past so that we can inform the ways in which you deal with experiences and relationships in the future. Exploring childhood memories, dreams, doodles, and fantasies, you will discover unconscious beliefs, feelings, and world views that have held you back – and in that discovery find more freedom and autonomy, and the chance to let go of unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour.
I will ‘meet’ you wherever you are in your journey, and we will travel together from there. We will work together for as long as appropriate to explore what you bring. I encourage face-to-face sessions wherever possible, but am happy to work online if this feels right for you (UK only).
If this seems like a good fit, do get in touch. I offer a free 30 minute initial session so that you can make an informed choice about taking up therapy with me. Thereafter, sessions will last 50 minutes.
Working with couples
Couples therapy is a dynamic process: what you get out of it depends on what you put in.
I offer therapy for couples in central Brighton on Thursday afternoons and evenings. I work with both opposite-sex and same-sex couples.
I can help with relationship difficulties, infidelity (affairs), pregnancy/fertility/having children, Later Life (eg children leaving home), loss of sex drive, and more.
I use a range of exercises as well as ‘talk therapy’, to help you identify and work with the blocks that may be impacting your relationship. I will not take sides, and will allow each partner to explore what they need to work through.
Sessions are 75 minutes long and cost £100. Initially, we will commit to work together for two sessions before deciding how to go forward.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
