About me

This time of year can be a difficult for many.  It may be an event has occurred that's left you with pain or shock, or you may feel an ongoing sense of worry, hopelessness or numbness to life. Whether it's space to air challenging  experiences and feelings, or a desire to discover new tools to support you in your life, I'll meet you where you're at and offer a space to explore in a trusting, and caring environment.

I offer individual therapy.  I work outside in nature as well as indoors. I offer online and in person sessions with adults and young people 11+.

Alongside talking therapy, I offer creative therapies, sand-tray and eco-therapeutic approaches.

Often big feelings and experiences are held in the body - I work taking this into account and supporting you to see your body as an ally. I work with this in a trauma-informed way.

I offer support around a variety of issues including: Anxiety, depression, loss, anger, transitions, relationships, isolation, self-esteem, body-image, identity, burn-out, overwhelm and when things just feel too much.

I welcome people new to counselling and those who may have had a difficult experience previously with a therapist.

Together we can explore and discover relevant and useful tools to support you in your life.

Counselling with young people

I work counselling in a secondary school and privately.   I offer a non-judgemental relationship to support a space where dialogue can be developed and trust built. I can integrate creative art and playful approaches, such as sand-tray, which opens the possibility to communicate in an accessible way.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have an FdA in Integrative Counselling with Ironmill College along with qualifications in art and massage therapy.  I have several years of therapeutic experience including holistic massage, facilitation, mediation, non-violent communication and active listening.

I work professionally counselling young people in a Secondary school based in Devon.  I also work for an outdoor wellbeing provision providing support to children and their families across Primary schools who are struggling with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

My CPD courses include: safeguarding, attachment-based trauma (Timpson Project), conflict mediation (Navigate), facilitation (Convergent Facilitation), nature-connection (8 Shields, Art of Mentoring), grief tending and dealing with shame (Brene Brown programme). I am ongoingly undertaking training in the Devon County Council Relational Approach in schools.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
