About me
WHO I WORK WITH
I work individually, with both adults and children. If you think you or your child would benefit from my services, please get in touch with me.
Adults: I offer an initial phone consultation. The first session will involve a general history and exploration of what you want to achieve in therapy.
Children: Before counselling commences, I meet with parents for a preliminary meeting. This initial session is vital for me to gather information allowing parents to freely express any relevant details. Future sessions are with the child alone.
HOW I WORK
Online sessions video or audio, take place through a secure online internet-based platform called Zoom which you can download for free onto a computer laptop or mobile phone.
If you opt for face-to-face sessions, they will take place in my counselling room which is located in central Tunbridge Wells.

HOW I WORK
My therapeutic approach is relational, I strongly believe that good therapeutic outcomes are largely dependent on the quality of the relationship that the client and their therapist share. I am an integrative counsellor. My roots are in humanistic, psychodynamic, and person-centred theory. Working integratively enables me to tailor the therapy to your needs which means I am able to draw from a range of therapeutic modalities.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) Membership No 00950920. This means that not only can you be assured of the standard of my training, but you can relax knowing that I adhere to their code of ethics and continue to extend my knowledge through continuing professional development.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and practice as an integrative therapist, I draw upon a range of theories and adopt different techniques in accordance to the individual situation.
My therapeutic approach is person centred holistic and collaborative. Together we can work with the mind, body, emotions, feelings, behaviours, and spiritual nature. I respect and value people’s lifestyle choices and work with humility. My approach is relational and believing that the therapeutic relationship emerges from a space of mutual respect and trust which develops over time and I aim to work in a consistent and collaborative manner. I believe that there is always another way of looking at life and through self-exploration in therapy, we can learn new and different approaches to life, our ways of being and how we relate to ourselves and others.
My professional background has been in health and social care. During this time I have worked with people experiencing a range of mental health and social problems both in the community and in a clinical setting. Since completing social work training (1998) I have developed counselling skills and taken advanced training in systemic therapy working with families and individuals to bring about change.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I offer a 30-minute consultation free of charge, to give you the opportunity to ask questions to help you decide how you would like to proceed. Thereafter, the fee is £45.00 for fifty-minute session.

Further information
I am able to offer face-to-face sessions in central Tunbridge Wells or by telephone or virtually (using Zoom). I undertake regular clinical training and continuous professional development in support of my work. I am fully insured and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and uphold their values and ethical framework.
