About me

I believe that you are the expert in you. Even though things may feel overwhelming and insurmountable at the moment, I trust that you have the resources within yourself to resolve the issues that are causing you distress.  What I can offer is a calm, confidential space where you can explore whatever is going on for you, without judgement.

I work in an integrative way combining a range of theories and skills in order to provide a counselling service tailored to your individual needs.  Through our work together, my aim is to facilitate a space where you can begin to view what is going on for you in a more objective way so that you can find answers and solutions that feel comfortable for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative counsellor with a diploma in Pyschotherapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

I have experience working with teenagers from 14 years; young adults and older adults.  I can support you with a range of life problems helping you to understand how past relationships and experiences influence the way that you respond to difficulties in the present.  I have a particular interest in working with both members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families.  I have both personal and professional experience in this area and can offer a confidential space, without judgment, where you can explore issues that you may find difficult to express in your day-to-day life.

You have taken the most difficult step by deciding to reach out for support.   I appreciate that finding the right counsellor is a very personal decision and so I offer a free 30 minute phone or video consultation to help you decide if you feel that we can work together.  If you feel you would like to arrange this, you can contact me via email so that we can arrange a time convenient to you.  During this initial call we can talk about what you would like to get out of counsellling.  After this, if you decide to work with me, we can arrange meetings, which are usually weekly and are online.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
