About me

I work with both adults and adolescents (11+ years) and practice an integrated therapeutic approach that is tailored for each individual client. I use both person-centred and psychodynamic theory to inform my work, as well as Gestalt and CBT techniques where appropriate.

As your counsellor, I will offer a safe and non-judgemental space in which we can work through whatever is causing you distress. I will listen, guide and support you as together we start to identify what might be needed, working at a pace that you are comfortable with.

I have worked with clients on a wide range of issues, including:

Grief
Anger
Anxiety
Health Anxiety
Stress
Low self-esteem

Relationship problems
Childhood trauma
Depression and low mood

There is nothing too big or too small to bring to counselling. If it is causing you to feel unhappy, then it is worth exploring.

I work with clients from all over the UK via Zoom and can offer in-person therapy in Folkestone, Kent, with limited in-person options in North London if required.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP registered counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling, gained at the CPPD Counselling School in Hornsey, North London. I also have a BA Honours in English and American Literature. Before training as a counsellor, I worked in marketing for ten years.

Issues that I have previously supported clients with include anxiety, stress, loss and bereavement, anger, depression, OCD, childhood trauma, relationship issues and low self-esteem.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I am committed to making counselling as accessible as possible and I am, therefore, able to offer therapy at a lower cost to a limited number of clients. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.
