About me

Hello, my name is Sandra. Thank you for visiting my page.

About Me

I am a British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) registered therapist with over 8 years experience in managing clients with a wide range of psychological issues.  I have special interest in helping clients manage their anxiety, depression and trauma related issues.  I integrate my practice through the psychodynamic approach to counselling alongside training  with person centered therapy and mindfulness approaches. I worked in the NHS over 25 years in a management role and was responsible for the clinical management of Service provisions and reaching the level of Quality Manager. Through my background, I am a believer and advocate of the counselling process which can help your journey to make the changes you want to bring about into your life.

This will take place in a face-to-face session or online in a trusting, comfortable and non-judgemental space.  My aim is to help you.

Other areas of training are:

·       Substance Addiction

·       Bereavement

·       Relationship Breakdown

·       Chronic Pain

My role is to help you to have a clearer understanding of why these and the many events of uncertainty are happening in your life.

What to expect in your initial session

This is something we will discuss and agree at your free initial session of 20 minutes, and to determine if we are a good fit for each other.  You can contact me by email or by telephone. If you are directed to voicemail, please feel free to leave a message, in confidence, with your name, your telephone number, and when is the best time to call. I will get back to you as quickly as possible,

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
