About me

Hello and welcome! My name is Sam. I'm a registered Mental Health Nurse and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I provide online CBT therapy sessions for anxiety and depression - working with adults over the age of 16. I'm registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Currently, I split my time between working in a Talking Therapy service in London for Anxiety and Depression (https://www.icope.nhs.uk/) and a specialist clinic that supports people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (https://overcomingocd.co.uk/)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) has a strong evidence base and is recommended as a first-line treatment by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence for depression and a range of anxiety disorders. CBT is a collaborative and present-focused therapy - exploring the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The key idea behind CBT is that we can get 'stuck' in negative thought processes and patterns of unhelpful behaviour which have a detrimental impact on how we feel. In therapy, we will gently explore how these thought processes and behaviours are impacting your life and consider what the alternatives might be - offering you a way to break the cycle of anxiety and depression, achieve your goals and live a more meaningful life.

I appreciate how scary and intimidating it can be to reach out to someone new (especially a therapist!) for the first time. Having said that, if you are wanting to get help and work through your difficulties to get back to living a meaningful life - I am here to listen. Please reach out to book an initial consultation which is completely free.
