About me

Hello, I'm Rosie. I offer a confidential, space for you to come and explore thoughts, feelings and issues you may be currently struggling with.

I believe compassion for self and others is central to finding contentment and much of my work focuses on this. Without self compassion, our loud critical voices can prevent us from living in the moment and allowing others close to us.

People come to counselling for many different reasons, such as trying to make sense of a difficult period in their life or possibly an increasing need to understand a problem that has always been there.

I am a Humanistic counsellor and believe each of us has the ability to grow, heal and to ultimately find fulfillment within ourselves. My job is to be alongside you on your journey, reflecting back what I see and at times gently challenging unhelpful beliefs and coping strategies you may have adopted to get through a difficult past. Whilst these coping strategies may have been necessary once they may now be holding you back.

I also have a specialist interest working with clients who have gender dysphoria.

First Session and Working Remotely

Looking for the right counsellor can be overwhelming, especially when you are feeling vulnerable and lost. With this in mind, I am happy to offer a 30 minute introductory session at no charge. This is a chance for us to meet and for you to decide if I'm the right person for you. We can also use this time to look at what it is you would like to get out of counselling.

I can offer both short term counselling, usually between 6 - 12 sessions, or more open-ended counselling depending on your needs and circumstances. I am experienced at working with both Adults and Adolescents.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
