About me

Hi, I'm Rosie and as a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I'm dedicated to providing you with a safe and empathic space for you to share whatever is on your mind.

What will counselling be like?

Whether you seek deeper self-contact, wish to navigate inner conflicts or experience challenges in your relationships, I'm here to meet you where you're at. Therapy can seem daunting at first, yet it can also be one of the most rewarding endeavours you undertake, allowing you to cultivate a life rich in meaning, purpose and satisfaction. I believe we each carry stories about ourselves and have the power to change unhelpful ones to live with greater freedom and spontaneity.

I offer a genuinely caring, compassionate approach and strive to create a nurturing atmosphere in our sessions where you'll be supported to feel heard, valued and understood. Placing my trust in you as the person who knows yourself best, I will listen with respect and kindness in a way that helps strengthen your ability for increased harmony, joy and vitality.

My expertise is derived from working with diverse client groups, over a decade in the charity sector as well as overcoming my own challenges of loss and relationship difficulties. Personal transformation in therapy has strongly embedded a devotion within me towards helping others. In going through my own healing, I appreciate the courage it takes to reach out for support. If you are feeling scared or worried, you no longer need to be alone.

As an integrative therapist, I consider the strength of blending therapeutic styles and tailor my practice to fit your own unique needs. I place great value on the relational approach and a core focus of my work is centred on the formation of a safe, deeply trusting relationship that welcomes all parts of you. Through holistic exploration, we’ll work collaboratively to achieve the personal growth and outcomes you desire.

I have a special interest in working with individuals facing issues related to:

Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties
LGBTQ+
Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity (GSRD)
Addictions

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm strongly committed to undertaking regular Continual Professional Development (CPD) training

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Please feel free to contact me in a way that is most comfortable to you; either by telephone call, message, WhatsApp or email. You can expect to receive a warm and friendly response.

I offer a complementary 15-minute telephone call to have a quick chat if you want to ask any questions about the counselling process or wish to connect before arranging an initial session.

Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes. Our first session won't require you to make any commitment to the counselling process. Instead, it'll be an opportunity to get to know one another, to let me know what you'd like from counselling, to ask questions and consider whether I'm the right therapist for you. Sometimes people know straight away, others need time to consider before making a decision.

If we decide to continue, we'll agree on a day and time to meet which is usually on a weekly basis but can be flexible dependent on your needs.
