About me

I am a Humanistic Counsellor, meaning the focus is always on the individual. I aim to build a strong relationship between therapist and client: exploring free-will, self-discovery and achieving your full potential as a human being, helping you discover your true, authentic self.

Taking the decision to come to Counselling may be difficult and daunting for you: painful and difficult life events may be blocking your self-belief, and obscuring your ability to find solutions and emotional freedom.

I can provide a safe, accepting, non-judgemental space where we can work together on issues you want to work on, with empathy, congruence and non-judgment always at the heart of my practice.

I have a background in the creative arts. I also work as a musician and an artist and have an interest in the creative process as a tool for rejuvenation, wellness and healing.

I work with adults (18+) from all backgrounds: My hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, as well as Tuesday evenings (until 9 pm), offering face-to-face sessions or online via Zoom. I also offer a free phone or video call before we meet in person.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their ethical framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
