About me

My aim in therapy is to help you achieve your goals, overcome anxiety, low mood, trauma and the related difficulties that these cause for us as individuals. I strongly believe that therapy can offer a way out of these difficulties and lead a more fulfilling life.

CBT is a proven effective psychological therapy for a number of psychological issues. It has been developed over a number of years, which both develops skills and techniques for the here and now to challenge and change unhelpful thinking, behaviour and habits, as well as looking at and changing those long held negative beliefs about ourselves, the world and others developed from childhood and throughout our life.

I aim to deliver the highest quality of cognitive behavioural therapy, in a goal orientated, person centred approach. With the aim to help individuals achieve goals and overcome difficulties they are experiencing.

I work with individuals who are suffering with:

  • generalised anxiety disorder
  • OCD
  • health anxiety
  • social anxiety
  • post traumatic stress disorder
  • panic disorder
  • phobias
  • depression and low mood
  • stress
  • low self esteem
  • performance anxiety

EMDR is an effective evidence based therapy, initially used for trauma it has been proven to be effective in the treatment of many other disorders, I am incredibly passionate about the effectiveness of this treatment, which if done successfully can have dramatic improvements on your wellbeing.

The initial contact will be a telephone call for twenty to thirty minutes. This is to assess the main issues and ensure that CBT or EMDR is the right therapy for you. If these are not the right approach we will consider the most appropriate steps and therapy for you. If we decide to go ahead with treatment sessions are available Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a accredited fully qualified Psychotherapist, specialising in Cognitive Behavioural therapy, EMDR and couples therapy. Having worked within the NHS and Public sector I have gathered a wide ranging level of experience. Ranging from acute inpatient and outpatient care, severe and enduring mental health, forensics and prison services, primary care services to my current role of Senior Psychotherapist in the nationally recognised SLAM NHS trust.

In my professional life I have worked as a service improvement lead which has developed my passion for delivering the best possible therapy with the best possible outcomes for the client.

Within my private work I have worked successfully with team GB athletes to improve anxiety management to aid performance, along with individuals seeking support for a range of difficulties and challenges.
