About me

Do you find yourself stuck in negative relationship patterns? Are you struggling to get over a breakup? Feeling overwhelmed by your emotions, or perhaps having difficulty feeling anything?

These are some of the issues I can help you with as an Integrative Relational Therapist. Research shows that our happiness depends on the quality of our relationships, as such they are often the root cause of many issues but also the place we can find healing.  I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental, warm, empathic and supportive therapy environment.  We will explore the issues that brought you to therapy, with particular focus on helping you understand and improve your relationships with other people, the external world and your relationship with your inner world, which includes your emotions, feelings and core beliefs. Helping you to feel better, have healthy fulfilling relationships and improved emotional functioning so that your emotions can enrich your experience rather than hindering it.

My areas of specialism include:

  • Relationship and dating difficulties.
  • Break-ups and divorce.
  • Emotional difficulties.
  • Insecure attachment styles.
  • Complicated family dynamics and childhood relational trauma.
  • Enmeshment and abandonment trauma.
  • Low self-esteem and identity issues.

I work collaboratively with you, at a pace you feel comfortable with. I use a range of therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic, developmental theory, person-centred, emotion-focused and mindfulness, allowing me to tailor sessions to suit your individual needs.

You can find further information and articles about my areas of specialism by visiting my website.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I offer face-to-face sessions at a convenient location next to Liverpool Street station and can also offer online sessions.

Depending on your needs, we can work together for a brief period of time or open-ended. For example, if you are dealing with a break-up I would usually suggest around 12 weeks of therapy, whilst for more in-depth personality development you may wish to continue with open-ended therapy.

If you are interested in being added to the waiting list, please contact me to make an enquiry. Once your name reaches the top of the list, I will arrange a free no-obligation 30-minute initial telephone or video consultation. The initial consultation allows us to discuss what has brought you to therapy, but also allows you to get a feel for me as a therapist and if we would be a good fit to work together going forwards.
