Rachael Walker - Dip.Couns Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP)
About me
Hi, I’m Rachael.
I’m warm, approachable and supportive and I’d like to help you to feel heard and understood. I can offer you a safe and secure place, where you will be able to talk about your thoughts and feelings in confidence.
I know that the thought of having counselling can be a daunting one, so I will do my best to help you to feel comfortable and relaxed. All my clients and their issues are extremely important to me, so there is no such thing as a client or an issue being ‘unimportant,’ or a problem being too ‘minor’.
The sessions are about you and whatever you feel you want to bring with you. I will work at your speed and give you the time you need to understand your feelings better.
Counselling can help you to connect to your real thoughts and feelings and alter your outlook on life. A new view of life could help you to accept yourself, make the right decisions for you, challenge negative beliefs and find a way to move forward. Counselling could also help you get back the feeling that you are in control of your life, or maybe help you to experience the feeling of being in control of your life for the very first time...
I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Sometimes thoughts and feelings are difficult to express with words, so you may want to express them in a different way? I have a keen interest in using creative interventions. Therefore, if you are interested in working creatively and it's is something you would like to try during our sessions together, I can encourage you to express your feelings in creative ways, such as through drawing or painting.
