About me

I am an experienced relationship counsellor working with couples and individuals. I offer face-to-face sessions in Dunbar and I also work online with clients from across the UK and the EU. Have a look at my profile and if you like what you see, please, get in touch.

FOR COUPLES:

When working with couples I don't take sides or judge you. Instead, my aim is to help you gain more awareness and understanding of relationship dynamics that may no longer be working and, together with you, we will explore ways to change unhelpful patterns and identify what resources and strengths you may have individually and as a couple. The direction you want to take your relationship is always up to you - whether you want to stay together, separate or explore your options.

Your relationship does not have to be at a crisis point, however, for you to start counselling. Counselling offers you a confidential and focussed space if you just want to better connect with your partner or if you would like support with a specific issue.

SOME of the issues I have worked with include:

  • Communication problems
  • Feeling disconnected
  • Lack of intimacy
  • Affairs
  • Separation and divorce
  • Bereavement
  • Life transitions
  • Different hopes for the future
  • Conflict with extended family
  • Different parenting styles
  • Navigating challenges with neurodiversity

FOR INDIVIDUALS:

Relationship counselling is also suitable for individuals - whether or not you are in a relationship. You may want to:

  • Explore challenges in your current relationship (intimate, family, work, wider society)
  • Look at how your past relationships are impacting on your life now
  • Work through a loss or an ending
  • Reflect on your relationship with yourself and explore what an authentic and meaningful life might look like for you

ABOUT ME AND MY PRACTICE:

I am a kind, genuine, and down-to-earth person, a 'chatty introvert' who likes quiet reflection and meaningful conversations in equal measure.

My counselling style is open and relaxed. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients and at a pace that you are comfortable with. I am always happy to get your feedback on our work together.

I draw on insights from various modalities, especially Person-Centred, Systemic, Psychodynamic, and Narrative therapies.

NEXT STEP:

The best way to reach me is via email. After receiving your email I will do my best to offer you a prompt first session so we can meet and talk a bit more about what has been going on for you and about your hopes for counselling.

If you don't hear back from me within 48 hours please check your spam folder.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MA (human rights) - University of Essex
  • MA (interdisciplinary) - University of Turku, Finland
