About me
Hi. My name is Paul. I am a Person Centred therapist based in Paisley and Glasgow.
I have been providing 1-to-1 therapy since 2017 and in that time I have worked with a range of clients, of all ages, with a huge variety of presenting issues, including anxiety and depression, voice hearers, abuse, trauma, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and bereavement. I've also worked with many people who initially couldn't put their finger on what they needed to speak about, but felt unsure of their way forward and needed somewhere to talk about that. My ever-growing experience in offering this therapeutic space to clients underpins my trust in the radical potential of person centred therapy to help people.
The person centred approach is a non-directive and non-hierarchical form of therapy and my role as a therapist is not to guide or direct clients but to provide a safe and judgement-free space where together we can explore whatever is causing you distress or getting in the way of you feeling okay. It is you who knows best what you have experienced and what you are going through. By giving you space to talk through those experiences and be understood, I aim to help you build emotional congruence and autonomy to find the right way forward for you.
My approach is also informed by the fact that many people face injustice in our society on the basis of characteristics such as race, gender, sexuality or disability. I believe it is vital to acknowledge how our social, cultural, political, and economic conditions are inextricably entwined with how we feel living in this society.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
