About me

I am passionate about supporting people to achieve healthy relationships, support with family issues, anxiety, navigating the challenges of success of step/blended families, infidelity/betrayals, being the other woman/man in a relationship and guiding with any other difficulties you may be experiencing.

My main counselling approach is person centred and my training enables me to use a range of techniques to support and guide clients on a journey of self exploration in a safe space where you can be talk and be heard without fear of judgement.

I work with couples and individuals on relationship issues, with empathy and understanding.

It is important to find the right counsellor for you and I offer a free 20 minute exploration consultation, going through the issues,  assessing your needs and giving you the opportunity to decide if you would like to proceed.

As a black counsellor, I have an in depth understanding of the unique challenges that black individuals and communities face. I bring a culturally sensitive and empathetic approach to my  practice, creating a safe and supportive space for black clients to explore their feelings and experiences.

My personal and professional experiences have given me insight into the issues of race, culture, relationships, interracial relationships and mental health, allowing me to work collaboratively with black clients to address their concerns and achieve their goals.

I believe that representation matters in accessing counselling services and am committed to advocating for the needs of black individuals on their therapeutic journey.

I offer discounted rates to trainee Counsellors.

I regularly write articles, which you can see on my Counselling Directory profile here  or on my website, where you can sign up to receive updates and notifications.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
