About me

Have you been asking yourself how to survive betrayal, disappointment, hurt, and separation? Resentment, sense of injustice and low self-confidence or stress - what do you do with it? Do you want to talk about failed expectations, anxiety and depression or family issues?

You might fear losing what you already have. For instance, losing a friendship if you express dissatisfaction with something. Or having conflicts with people who are important to you while trying to assert your boundaries. Or feeling like you're different when you start prioritising yourself and your happiness.

What do you do in such situations?

Analyse your relationships, understand what you truly want, and learn to communicate effectively with people. Also, figure out:

  • What to do when your personal boundaries are violated,
  • How to stay calm and in control during conflicts,
  • How to improve relationships with your loved ones and much more.

Hello. I am Olena, an independent counselling practitioner. I am a Relate trained practitioner with over a decade of experience.

I work with individuals and couples who want to make changes in their lives. Together, we will find what works best for you and discover how to start loving yourself and improve your self-esteem.

I have academic knowledge, practical background and first-hand experience of autism and ADHD. You might be struggling to move forward after a diagnosis, needing to deal with complex trauma or you may have someone close to you with autism or ADHD. You or your partner may benefit from psychoeducation, discussing the pros and cons of diagnosis, disclosures, and mental health issues or endeavour to tease out what is the real you and what is masking.

I am here to listen and to help you explore your thoughts and feelings, which can sometimes feel confusing and overwhelming. I offer a secure, non-judgemental, professional and confidential environment where we work together to try and make sense of how you are feeling.

Training, qualifications & experience

I started by studying general Psychology (BPsy) and continued with PG Dip in Relationship Counselling and PG Cert in Autism. Also, I have MA in Creativity & Innovation. I worked for Relate for over a decade.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
