About me

Do you need to talk? Life can sometimes feel challenging and difficult. Perhaps you feel worried or anxious but don’t quite know why, what to do or how to move forward. Maybe you wish that you could share your problems with someone who listens, emphasises with how you feel and accepts you for who you are in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Counselling can offer you a path to understanding yourself better and from that awareness make positive changes that align with the person who you want to be.

I understand that reaching out to a counsellor for the first time can feel scary and I am here to walk alongside you each step of the way. Every client is unique and collaboratively you and I work with the issues and concerns you choose to bring to each session.

I am a person-centred counsellor and offer you a confidential and safe space which enables you to talk and explore your problems at a time and pace that feels right for you. You may have a specific idea of what you would like to change in your life or you might be unsure about what you want right now and how to get there. Together we can create a space for you that allows you to get to know yourself on a more conscious and authentic level and with that understanding move more positively, confidently and creatively forward in life.

If you would like to know more about counselling or how I work, please visit my website or get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Adolescents. I like to work with individuals in a holistic way, which means that I support my clients in exploring their thoughts, feelings and behaviours as well as bringing awareness to any physical sensations clients experience when they talk about their issues and concerns. Our bodies process feelings immediately and often offer us a more direct way into how we experience life, ourselves and relationships. As a certified yoga teacher, I can integrate breathing exercises, body scans and mindfulness into counselling sessions to enable clients to get to know themselves in a more meaningful way.

As a therapist I work in a person-centred way and honour each client’s individuality regarding who they are and where they are on their journey of self-discovery. People are unique and I respect and value what each person chooses to bring to the session. It is the relationship between clients and me that is the key to effective therapy. My aim is to build a meaningful and trusting therapeutic relationship between us that can help you explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours in order to develop a greater awareness, understanding and acceptance about who you are and how you relate to yourself and others.

I currently work online with clients aged 16+ and offer home-visits to clients who prefer counselling from the comfort of their own home. I also work with young people aged 11-18 in secondary schools around Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
