About me

Counselling for Women.

I feel very strongly about supporting women through the challenges life can bring, be it bereavement, separation, relationships, crisis, transition or menopausal issues.

These challenges can bring anxiety, depression, grief, isolation and other deeply uncomfortable feelings. I create a supportive, confidential environment fostering an inquiry into a deeper understanding of oneself and ones experiences, offering the potential to make sense of the uncomfortable feelings as well as unraveling old patterns that may no longer serve.

I work with women of all ages and have worked closely with a lot of teenage girls who find themselves struggling with the pressures of growing up, many suffering from anxiety and depression and all that brings for them. I have also had the privilege of working closely with The Green Funeral Company supporting many through the process of immense grief.  I have been deeply inspired whilst working with women through the menopause, a time in a woman's life that can often cause ripples and sometimes waves in all areas of life. This amount of change can benefit immensely from emotion support and a deeper inquiry into self awareness.

I feel that women need other women's support and understanding in times of distress and transition.

My training is in Integrative Counselling which puts the client in the centre pulling on a wealth of therapeutic knowledge and practice. I have also journeyed deeply with, and supported, groups of women exploring feminine archetypes and their distortions.

I work creatively, by this I mean I stay open to the individuals way of expressing themselves whilst meeting their unique therapeutic and emotional needs.

My enquiry into supporting women is constantly enriched by having a daughter myself.

I have I have a private practice in Bristol.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
