About me
Life is hard.
Relationships are harder.
Being human is the hardest thing of all.
We are shaped by what we go through, not just what we are told.
Pain, loss, trauma, disconnection, and difficult relationships don’t just stay in the past - they show up in how we think, how we feel, how we relate, and how safe we feel in the world.
I founded WiseMinds Counselling & Psychotherapy because I believe people deserve a space where their experiences are not dismissed, minimised, or judged - but met with curiosity, compassion, and psychological understanding.
My approach is pluralistic and integrative, drawing from person-centred therapy, psychodynamic thinking, Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed practice, and evidence-based psychological understanding.
This allows me to tailor therapy to the individual, rather than asking the individual to fit the therapy.
I have a background in mental health, forensic psychology, and counselling training, and I bring both clinical understanding and deep respect for the complexity of human experience.
I am particularly interested in how trauma, attachment patterns, and relational experiences shape identity, emotional regulation, and self-worth over time.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief:
People are not broken - they are adapting.
Many of the ways we survive difficult experiences once made sense.
Therapy is not about taking those survival strategies away, but about understanding them, softening what is no longer needed, and creating space for new ways of living that feel safer, freer, and more connected.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, relational difficulties, emotional overwhelm, low self-worth, and the long-term impact of adverse or complex life experiences.
I also have a particular interest in post-separation abuse, coercive control, and the psychological impact of prolonged relational harm.
WiseMinds offers a confidential, reflective, and steady therapeutic space where you do not have to justify your reactions or minimise your pain. Instead, we work together to make sense of what has happened and support meaningful change at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Therapy is not about fixing who you are.
You are not broken.
It is about understanding what has happened to you - and helping you reclaim a sense of choice, stability, and self-trust.
You don’t have to do that alone.

Further information
I aim to make my practice as accessible, flexible, and supportive as possible, recognising that people come to therapy with a wide range of needs, circumstances, and lived experiences.
I offer online sessions, which can be particularly helpful for clients who experience mobility difficulties, chronic health conditions, anxiety in unfamiliar environments, or practical barriers such as transport or caring responsibilities. Online therapy can also provide a greater sense of safety and control for some clients, allowing them to engage from a familiar and comfortable space.
My approach is trauma-informed and relational, and I place importance on creating a steady, non-judgemental environment where you do not need to perform or present yourself in a certain way. You are welcome to pause, take time, or express yourself in whatever way feels most manageable for you during sessions.
I understand that consistency can sometimes be affected by health, emotional wellbeing, or life circumstances. Where possible, I work flexibly and collaboratively to support a pace of therapy that feels realistic and sustainable for you, rather than adding pressure.
I also recognise that accessibility is not only physical but emotional. Feeling safe enough to speak openly can take time, especially if you have experienced trauma, invalidation, or difficult relationships with services in the past.
If you have any specific accessibility needs, adjustments, or concerns, you are welcome to discuss these with me at any stage. I will do my best to accommodate these so that therapy feels as safe, accessible, and supportive as possible for you.
