About me
Hello and welcome to my page.
My name is Michelle, and I am a qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals on their personal journeys towards healing, growth and emotional wellbeing.
My journey into therapeutic practice began at the age of sixteen when I first started working with individuals who were facing significant challenges such as physical changes, mental health issues and end of life transitions. Over the years I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, and in doing so, I have gained a wealth of experience and understanding in areas such as mental health, disabilities and the physical and emotional toll these experiences can have not just on the individual but also their families and loved ones. This extensive experience has shaped my approach to counselling, guiding me to work with empathy, patience and an open heart.
Within my private practice, I am committed to creating a therapeutic environment that allows you, the client, to feel seen, heard, and respected. My core focus is to build a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences freely. I understand that beginning therapy can be daunting step, especially if it is your first time seeking support. It is common to feel uncertain about what to expect or how therapy works, and I want to reassure you that we will work through this together at a pace that you feel is right for you. It is my belief that therapy should be collaborative process, and I will always ensure you feel empowered in every step we take.
As an integrative counsellor, I am particularly interested in the complex relationship between trauma and the body's response. My approach recognises that our mental, emotional and physical health are interconnected, and therefore, healing requires attention to all these aspects. by using a range of therapeutic techniques, including talking therapies, mindfulness practices, and body-based approaches, I tailor my work to meet your unique needs, acknowledging everyone's journey is different.
My approach to therapy is grounded in authenticity, empathy, compassion and non-judgement. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for effective change, and it is safe and non-judgemental space that you will be able to explore your thoughts and emotions openly. It is through this connection that we can work together towards achieving your therapeutic goals, whether that be gaining deeper insight into emotional landscape, processing past trauma, managing stress or building resilience for the future.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
