About me
My Career in psychology spans more than twenty years, and I qualified as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist in 2005. I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I now work in independent practice in Benfleet, Essex. I have worked in the private sector for The Priory Group where I specialised in CBT and I have worked in various mental health settings within the NHS.
My work involves helping people to overcome emotional and psychological difficulties, counselling through difficult life events, and personal exploration and development.
As a psychologist I offer an individual approach to treatment based on an assessment. I am experienced in a number of different treatment approaches including, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET) for PTSD, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Clinical Hypnosis. I have experience of working with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties including Depression; Anxiety disorders; Phobias; Panic attacks; Trauma; PTSD; Bereavement; OCD; Self esteem; Stress and Self Harm.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
