About me

Life experiences and unexpected situations can trigger varying emotions which can be difficult to process. Being able to talk to someone within a confidential and non-judgemental environment can support in achieving a greater understanding of ourselves by processing difficult emotions and feelings.

I have always had a passion for helping others by listening and supporting people through difficult times.   Having had counselling myself due to personal struggles, I feel I can offer true understanding and empathy to clients.  I feel talking therapy is a great way to help people understand their emotions and reconnect with themselves in an authentic space.

I offer short term therapy with a minimum of 6 sessions and long term therapy which is open ended. Each form of therapy has therapeutic goals which are regularly reviewed to ensure we are working in an ethical and trusting manner. My aim is to support you throughout this journey as you explore your emotions and experiences which I understand may be difficult.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My working approach is based on an integrative model underpinned by Petruska Clarkson’s 5 relationship model. This approach will allow in depth exploration of your experience in order to facilitate change and acceptance.

I am a BACP registered member integrative counsellor. This means I use a variety of models including Person-Centred, to stay with the client in the here and now and Psychodynamic, to explore the client's past history which can inform their present script.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
