About me

We can all do with a little help from time to time and that's okay. Taking time out to talk about how you're feeling is the first step towards positive mental health and well being.  Life can be difficult and confusing and it can be a struggle to make sense of it all. Anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, changes at work,  divorce, relationship and health issues are common problems we face as well as low self esteem and negative beliefs that hold us back. These problems can leave us feeling life is spiralling out of control and coping can be hard and effect our quality of life.

Seeking help may seem a little daunting at first especially if you're used to putting on a brave face and getting on with it or looking after other people's needs before your own. Putting yourself first might not come naturally to you and I'm here to help you along that journey so that you feel comfortable and confident to let go and talk about your thoughts, feelings and emotions and the reason you sought help.

Sometimes the reason you sought counselling is just the tip of the iceberg and it's important to get to the underlying causes to enable you to move forward.

I offer short, medium or long term therapy depending on your needs and requirements. I'm qualified as an integrated and person centred counsellor, NLP practitioner and hypnotherapist. This means I take a holistic approach as I believe one size doesn't fit all, and use a blend of therapies and combine them into the best plan to support your needs. You can set your own pace in a comfortable setting and feel at ease to really talk about what is bothering you.

For short term therapy, we may address a particular issue and use specific tools to help you deal with it so that you can move on with your life. These could include CBT, NLP or hypnotherapy. For longer term therapy, you may need more time and space to talk things through and peel away the layers of your life and problems, your relationships and your past or childhood, beliefs and values, to find the underlying cause.  Together we'll look at what that means for you, where you are and where you want to be and work towards a comprehensive treatment plan to leave you in a place of personal empowerment

Sometimes therapy can be an emotional and hurtful experience and an important part of your therapy is building rapport, trust and confidence in our relationship, so you can truly express yourself and feel safe to talk about how you feel without being judged.

I'm a seasoned and rounded professional, with a warm and friendly nature and a kind, empathetic and compassionate therapist. I have a background in HR where supporting people in a sensitive manner and with respect and dignity is paramount, I'm also a mental health first aider and volunteer as a bereavement counsellor supporting client through painful loss.

If you would like to find out more about how I can help you, please contact me by phone or email. We can have an initial no obligation chat before your book your first session.
