About me

Are you feeling lost and alone. Maybe your facing a difficult time and just need some support right now or just need someone to listen to what your going through. Counselling can give you the opportunity to share how you may be feeling right now. I am an experienced counsellor with a level four diploma in Therapeutic Counselling .I have also worked in various agencies supporting clients experiencing emotional difficulties such as anxiety , depression .suicidal thoughts and addiction. My Therapeutic focus is to help you understand conflicting feelings you may be experiencing.Help you develop the tools that will help you cope with life’s difficulties . Help you gain   awareness of how you relate to the past and how this is affecting you in the present .Create the environment to empower you. Help you find the confidence to change your situation. I am BACP registered and committed to professional development .

I set up From The Chair Counselling to be able to offer a safe place for you to share how you feel or what you believe with out judgment or discrimination. A place of trust where what we talk about is confidential.

The style of counselling I use will be what is most affective and will benifit you.

I incorporate different styles of counselling CBT ( Cognitive Behavioural Therapy )to help  you recognise patterns of behaviour  and gain an understanding of how the way we think and feel about ourselves can determine our response and behaviour to events. Techniques to help you deal with anxiety, depression, or stress. Psychodynamic techniques too work with the past .

Person Centred to understand your experience and what you are going through.  I will listen carefully to what concerns you and what you are doing to cope.By us talking through your concerns and giving you the opportunity to stand back from them. Will help you understand and work through your emotions. Together we can take the journey towards change. I am now also introducing Mindfulness into my practice as well to help you gain awareness on how you relate to the past ,ourselves ,and others . Which could be affecting the quality of relationships and your life in the present.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
