About me

I'm a trained CBT and Psychodynamic Counsellor. I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their code of ethics. I have over 10 years of experience working with adults, young adults, parents and children who experience moderate to severe behavioural/emotional and relational difficulties. I use a range of therapeutic techniques and approaches, depending on my client's presenting issue and preferences. Sharing feelings, thoughts and fears can not only ease mental pain but also bring fresh insight, helping you to understand and make sense of things that might make you feel confused and stuck. Embarking on a therapeutic journey provides space to think, to speak, to feel and to be heard.

I offer one-to-one/in-person and online sessions via Teams, Google Meet or other video call mediums.

Training, qualifications & experience

In my practice, I provide a warm and understanding environment. I work with adults /young people and children in my practice to help individuals manage and overcome mental health concerns and personal difficulties. I have over 10 years of experience counselling and supporting young people in school, NHS clinics, youth clubs and in my private practice.

I work with parents to improve parenting skills and manage challenging behaviour in children of all ages, including sleep and potty training issues. In my work with parents, we collaborate to find ways to promote positive behaviour in children and build strong relationships with them. We also discuss how to handle teenagers' emotions and risky behaviour. I suggest simple routines that can have a big impact, and provide guidance on how parents can take care of themselves.

In my adult work the focus is on various issues that affect people's lives including anxiety, low mood, abuse, trauma, and relationship challenges/difficulties. During your therapy session, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and develop a plan tailored to your specific needs.

I believe in early intervention, as I see therapy as a tool that can prevent a problem from becoming a crisis.

I hope that therapy will help you to reflect in a different way to enable you to lead a happier and more fulfilling life.

I also supervise students and clinical psychology trainees.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
