About me

I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Based in West London, I offer face-to-face, online and phone sessions.

There are many reasons why we may seek counselling. My clients have included students struggling to cope with the pressures of academic life and family expectations, older clients experiencing significant life changes (through bereavement, long-term illness or job loss) wondering how to cope and what the future holds, people trying to understand and live with cancer, carers wondering how they are going to keep going, professionals coping with perfectionism, women trying to balance work, family and the cultural demands made of them.

My Approach

It can be helpful to speak to someone who is not part of our lives and can offer impartial support. I aim to create a space that allows you time to think about yourself in a way that may not be possible in everyday life: that allows you to express yourself without fear of judgement and find fresh perspectives, explore how you feel emotionally, consider the problems you face and the changes you might like to make.

Counselling is something that can be explored whatever your age or stage of life. There are different types of counselling and my approach, known as Integrative, means that I am trained in several theories so I can draw on an approach or combination of approaches that best suit you. Working with clients with different cultural and ethnic minority background I am mindful of difference and diversity, with an awareness of the impact of society on our health and wellbeing.

Training, qualifications & experience

Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

In addition to my private practice, I work at The Mulberry Centre, Isleworth, with clients affected by cancer. I have also been a bereavement counsellor for Bereft, an Ealing based charity providing long term therapy focused on loss and grief and a volunteer for The Listening Place, a suicide prevention charity.

With a post graduate teaching qualification, I have a background in education working in early years and primary schools supporting children with additional learning needs and autism.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer face-to-face, online or phone sessions for adults (18 and over)

Sessions are 50 minutes

It is important to find a counsellor you can feel comfortable with so I always recommend an initial phone discussion so you can see how you would feel working with me. It’s an opportunity to explain the issues you wish to bring and to ask any questions.  You can get in touch by email or phone to arrange a time for an initial discussion, or just use the booking button at the top of my profile.  These initial phone discussions are free.
