About me

I am an experienced and qualified counsellor working with young people and adults experiencing difficulties including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship issues, substance and alcohol related needs and adverse childhood experiences, including historic sexual exploitation. I qualified as a counsellor in 2013 and have over twenty years experience working with young people and adults with emotional health related needs.

I have an integrative and responsive approach to counselling which is underpinned by the foundations of person-centred theory. I have a warm and friendly manner and aim to provide you with a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings and work alongside you to support you with your difficulties and find a way forward that is best for you. I am dedicated and passionate about my role as a counsellor and firmly believe you are at the centre of the counselling process.

I work in both private practice and for a well-respected children and families charity and have over twenty years experience working with young people and adults who have emotional health and wellbeing needs and/or complex substance related needs.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and offer brief and longer-term private counselling to people aged 14+.

In my current role, I manage a team of young people’s counsellors and emotional health and wellbeing practitioners and hold a small caseload of young people accessing our counselling service. I am also a qualified and highly experienced substance misuse practitioner who has worked within an award winning child sexual exploitation team and within youth justice services.

I'm very happy to have an informal chat if you would like to know more about how I may be able to help. Please get in touch by email, text or phone to arrange a free initial, no obligation telephone consultation.

I am currently undertaking a Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision and offer reduced rate sessions to qualified counsellors, those working in a helping profession (incl: NHS staff, mental health practitioners, teachers, pastoral staff and youth workers)  and to student counsellors seeking secondary supervision. Please contact me for further details.

I am based within a few minutes walk from Radcliffe tram station and parking is available in the immediate vicinity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
