About me

Well done for taking the brave step towards finding someone to talk to about what's going on. I'm a counsellor & psycotherapist living & working Edinburgh with a passion for creativity, art and nature.

I'm fully qualified, integrative therapist, who works with all ages from 5 to 105. I have a great deal of experience using creativity & talk therapy,  particularly  to work with trauma, anxiety & depression. I want to give you attentive listening without judgement in a safe and confidential space.

I can offer face to face counselling and psychotherapy, telephone or zoom/video.

I enjoy working with my clients as individuals, working in a collaborative manner to addresses your unique personality and specific needs. I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach and use variety of psychological therapies and techniques. We work together to help you understand your responses to experiences and to find ways of managing them. We have regular reviews to check out how we are doing, what is helpful, unhelpful etc.

In addition to my private practice, I am a counsellor with 2 charitable organisations working with both adults and children. I also have over 15 years experience working in primary education with extensive experience using creativity as well as working with autism & additional needs. I offer open-ended counselling as well as short-term and focused therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
