About me

Are you wondering what steps to take to make sense of your current feelings? It could be that those around you don't understand you, or that you feel alone. Discussing your feelings with people who are close to you might be tough. So, I want to reassure you; you are not alone, and I am ready to listen when you are ready to talk

The therapy I offer you is called Person-centred, which is a client led talking therapy, you are the focus of the therapy.  I see you as the expert on you.  It can be difficult to explain exactly what it is, so I hope how I describe it helps.

… Imagine you are in a forest with a heavy layer of fog. You are attempting to find your way out but don’t know which direction to go in. You may be feeling stuck, frightened, angry, upset and overwhelmed with all these emotions. I may not know the right path you should take but I will walk beside you until you find it and the fog has cleared.

So, during our sessions, we would discuss the matter that is concerning you. Identify the improvements you would like to see and work towards and find a solution that feels right for you, as we all deal with our issues in our own individual way.

Also, because my style of therapy is non-directive I won't push or pry into matters you don't want to talk about, nor will I offer unwanted advice or guidance. However, I may provide suggestions; you could then decide whether or not you take them up.  I will treat you with upmost respect, discretion, empathy, and be non-judgmental.

Counselling is beneficial for a variety of problems. I've worked with a lot of clients, who have presented with a variety of concerns, such as, but not exclusive to

Low self-esteem, which can undermine your confidence.

Anxiety can manifest as fear, which can have psychological and physical effects.

Divorce, maybe leaving you feeling hopeless.

Bereavement it’s hard to let go of someone.

Low moods if left could possibly develop into depression.

Stress which maybe affecting you both mentally and physically.

Abuse, (domestic, sexual, coercive and controlling behaviour)

You can email me or What Apps me for an appointment. (Please also check your spam folder for my reply as it can end up there sometimes.) I also offer, online and telephone sessions for those who choose to access counselling in this way as an alternative to meeting in the room. This means I am able to have sessions throughout the UK. So why not take advantage of my Free 15min consultation in which you can decide if it is the right therapy, and I am the right therapist for you.

Note to GP's, please give my number to your patients so they can self-refer.

EAP's and other professionals please contact for fees.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
