About me
Things feel hollow and unsettled. Frustration simmers. You keep it all under control as much as you can...until you explode with anger. Or you completely disengage. You even stop speaking. Shame and guilt descend and rumination suffocates you.
Tears come readily. Your partner or perhaps your children notice the increasing irritability but to yourself it’s invisible. You feel exhausted and no longer know who you are.
If you are an autistic person in a demanding career, outwardly successful but feeling empty, you might think you are a bad human being and that it is all your fault. You might think autism is to blame. Nobody will ever understand you. Or care about you.
You have achieved so much: the well-respected job, the financial reward, perhaps you have built a family. You know there is more. You sense your potential but can’t get hold of it. It feels like you are on the cusp of something truly meaningful..yet it evades you. And then there’s the regret.
You want a small group of close friends to share interests with. A loving partner, who appreciates you. A purpose to believe in and be proud of.
---
Or perhaps you find yourself alone in life. You have learnt to force yourself to fit in at work. It hasn’t always gone smoothly. Bullying follows you around. Your masking seems impeccable and still people can tell you are different without you saying a word. And there are words, so many…You tell captivating stories. But who listens?
You think you might be AuDHD.
You’ve noticed there’s a cyclical rhythm: focus, push through, burnout, depression, fall apart. Piece yourself back together and on it goes.
Where is this circle-dance taking you? You have seen the dark hollow at the centre of the fast spiral, you are scared it will pull you in and there will be no return. On difficult days you want it to swallow you up. But something keeps you here, precariously perched, tired eyes fixed on the precipice. It’s almost like you can’t move. It’s not laziness, it’s not absence of care.
You would like somebody to listen to you, to understand. To hold your hand and promise that everything will be fine. Just those words would do. You want to feel joy again, to create meaning, to step away from the abyss and be steady, safe..content.
---
Or maybe things are really not too bad. They have been in the past and you know where it came from and what it meant, the sense of isolation you had as a child, the difficulty with trusting people. But actually what you need right now is to figure out how to get by in the everyday.
Time is slippery, you try to catch it, contain it but it escapes. You are often late and not sure what you are supposed to be doing when. People say you’re disorganised but you think there’s something else. You’re clever, you’re capable, you have proven that in your studies and perhaps at work.
You have ideas, you want to channel your energy to make things happen. Yet making a plan, creating a structure and a routine feels impossible. You have started so many times, tried different approaches only to watch it all scatter about you like colourful mosaic pieces, mixed together. Perhaps it’s ADHD, you’re not sure.
What if this struggle with organisation derails what seems like a promising beginning, be it university or early career? That's a fear of yours. What if anxiety takes over and breaks you apart, the self you've so carefully put together?
You think some practical guidance to use in real-life situations would be helpful. Otherwise, you are doing well. Promise and excitement lie ahead. You know what you want and how to get there, mostly.

Previous clients said they had found the sessions beneficial and achieved goals with calm confidence.
"As an autistic person suffering with chronic anxiety, I came to Lii for support to cope with burnout associated with constant masking and the social difficulties of working in a high-pressure professional environment. Lii identified my deep-rooted need for self-compassion and approached the sessions with kindness and pragmatism that was very much needed. I am very grateful to have found Lii." (H., lawyer)
Who I work with:
I work with autistic and AuDHD professionals in demanding careers, such as tech, law and academia, who are experiencing burnout, masking exhaustion or struggling to find meaning despite outward success.
My clients include:
- High-achievers in their 40s-60s navigating burnout, depression, relationship challenges, identity and purpose questions
- University students and also young professionals in their 20s-30s struggling with organisation and routine alongside masking fatigue
Many are late-diagnosed. Some are parents. All looking for positive changes they can make right away.
While my specialism is autistic and AuDHD adults, I also support non-neurodivergent clients, who value a structured, analytical approach to therapy, particularly those navigating life transitions, relationship challenges or identity questions. If my message speaks to you, I would be very glad to help.

Other academic qualifications:

I specialise in supporting autistic and AuDHD professionals in high-pressure careers experiencing burnout, masking exhaustion, workplace stress, anxiety, depression, anger management challenges and relationship strain. Many of my clients are in their 40s or older, late-diagnosed and struggling with the paradox of professional success alongside personal depletion.
My own journey from art to business to economics to therapy and now autism research reflects the non-linear path many autistic adults take in search of meaningful work that honours both analytical and creative strengths.
"The sessions themselves were always a constructive and comfortable place to develop my understanding of what I was experiencing which was really useful - but I think the big thing I noticed was that I could actually apply what we had spoken about outside of sessions. It’s helped me change my perspective on certain situations and I have practical advice I can continue to use and build on even though my therapy series is over!" (E., university student)
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
