I'm an experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with 10 years of clinical practice in both charity and private sectors. My approach is person centred and psychoanalytically informed. The therapeutic process aims to increase your awareness of your internal world. This involves reflecting on the relationship between your earlier experiences and the difficulties that have brought you to seek help now. To achieve this it is important that we are able to consider past, sometimes painful, experiences. While this doesn't mean we have to talk about the past in every session, we do need to be able to think about it.
Training, qualifications & experience
I work with people who’ve experienced difficulties managing relationships, emotional disturbance, mood fluctuation, navigating life changes, low self-esteem and a general sense of unease or discomfort with life. I've particular experience in trauma and with those who've experienced childhood abuse or have complex familial relationships.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

How it works
If you'd like to enquire about working together just send me a message and include your availability over the next couple of weeks. I will respond to you within five working days to organise an initial consultation which is charged at half the usual fee.
In the consultation I'll ask you some gentle questions about you and your experiences. It is also an opportunity for you to see whether therapy with me feels like the right option for you. If we conclude that I’m not the right therapist for you, where possible, I will make recommendations to support you in finding someone else. If therapy with me, does feel like the right option, we can go ahead and organise a regular time slot.
50 minute initial consultation: £25
50 minute weekly or fortnightly therapy appointment: £50
Payment is made only by bank transfer on the day of booking and in advance of your next appointment.
