About me

I am an experienced counsellor working in the Farnborough area with adults and young people. I also work for a company providing Animal Assisted Therapy and as a Counselling Tutor. I offer a caring relationship with a commitment to support you with your personal problems.

I have immediate openings for face to face counselling and tele therapy (Eg: Skype, Zoom, Phone) Flexible rates available. I offer a free half an hour initial phone consultation.

Counselling:

I am aware that for some the process of counselling is new and it might feel daunting to think about opening up to a stranger. At times the decision to start therapy is prompted by an event, recent or historic. This in itself can seem difficult to manage.

Some people decide to come to counselling because of difficult feelings and thoughts; these can be lifelong and they can impact on relationships.

Another reason to seek help could be because a person is aware of certain patterns of relating that are not helpful, or because they have a sense that their needs are not being met.

Whatever the reasons, acknowledging the difficulties and contacting a counsellor is the first step.

Once in counselling, a client has the opportunity to talk about thoughts and feelings and develop their self-awareness. This can lead to opportunities to make positive changes.

What I can offer you:

Working as an Integrative Counsellor I have experience and training in several theoretical approaches. This will underpin my work with you. The relationship between counsellor and client is key and I will provide a confidential space and a period of time where I will focus entirely on you. It will be a nurturing and safe environment where I will listen to whatever is brought to the session.

Through exploration of your thoughts and feelings you will become more self aware and learn about why you respond as you do. With this increased knowledge and the emotions that may come with it, I will remain present with you without judgement or opinion. We will work together to consider your needs and changes that could result in greater emotional safety.

My work with you will supported by the ethical requirements provided by my membership with the BACP. (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.)

I consider it a privilege to work alongside clients as they experience relief and a restored strength of spirit.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
