Kim Maddocks MBACP, (Dip.Couns) - Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Choosing the right therapist is an important part of the therapeutic process. I value building a strong rapport and working at a true relational depth, in order to gain a real understanding of what is going on for you.
Within my practice, I help clients experiencing a wide range of complex issues such as unresolved trauma, relationship problems, bereavement and anxieties. It may feel daunting at first to speak openly about the things that are bothering you and this can be a natural part of the process. We can work together to build trust and a strong therapeutic relationship to help facilitate any change or personal growth. It always important to remember that your well-being matters and your feelings are valid. We all have the right to self-development and a good quality of life. Any changes you wish to make can begin today.
I am an integrative therapist, which means that I will tailor our sessions in a way that will most benefit you. I draw on various therapeutic modalities including humanistic and behavioural approaches based upon your needs and the issues you may wish to bring.
My therapy room is a confidential and relaxing space, in which you are able to speak freely and without worry of judgement. I work in private practice and my office is based in a peaceful area of Wilmslow. I see clients on an individual basis and provide both short term counselling sessions and longer term psychotherapy.
I also offer Couple's Counselling for clients seeking to resolve problems within their relationship. Couple work is not restricted to romantic partnerships; you may wish to work on a relationship with a family member, or any other meaningful relationship where you wish to attend as part of a couple. Couple's Counselling can help to explore issues such as breakdown in communication, dealing with an affair, sexual difficulties, etc.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I adhere to their ethical framework. I undertake regular supervision and frequently attend professional workshops and further training for my own continued personal development.
