About us

We are a Not For Profit Charity running a counselling service based in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, but covering all areas, delivering both Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Our focus is primarily on offering an affordable and accessible counselling service, particularly in this time of financial crisis. We offer reduced rate sessions with student therapists from Strathclyde University studying on the MSc Counselling & Psychotherapy course as well as students from GCU, on their Doctorate of Counselling Psychology course, & ACT Services studying towards a post graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In addition we also offer therapy sessions with qualified Counsellors. 

We work with clients experiencing a variety of issues including but not exclusively anxiety, OCD, social anxiety, health anxiety, post-partum anxiety, , anxiety around the menopause, panic disorder low mood, depression, phobias, low self esteem, grief and relationship issues.  Our qualified therapists can also work with trauma and PTSD.

Training, qualifications & experience

We are a member of the BACP. We have been delivering counselling services for 5 years, our charity has been established since 2014, continuously providing social prescribing, with strong governance in place, adhering to the regulations and specifications required by OSCR, the charity regulator.

Our trainee person centred therapists are studying on the MSc Counselling & Psychotherapy course at Strathclyde University,  trainees from GCU, are studying towards a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.

Our trainee CBT therapists are studying towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with ACT Counselling Services.

Our qualified therapists have extensive experience and are able to support people experiencing more complex issues such as trauma and PTSD.

We have been delivering co established since 2014,governance in place and adhering to the regulations set by OSCR the charity regulator.

COSCA Counsellor Accreditation is a pathway to entry onto the UKRC.

It is a requirement of all individual and organisational members of COSCA to abide by its Statement of Ethics and Code of Practice and be accountable to the Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Additional information

Our concession rates are £12 per session working with a student counsellor and our qualified counsellor rate is £40 a session.
