About me

Inner World Counselling is a compassionate therapy practice based in Exeter, offering a safe and supportive place to talk when life feels unexpectedly challenging or complicated.

I can offer you space and time to explore whatever is busy in your mind and perhaps heavy on your heart. I truly believe that counselling can provide an important and valuable opportunity to slow down and gather perspective when all around appears to be moving at speed.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a qualified integrative therapist working in Exeter, Devon. I have worked in a number of counselling organisations on a voluntary and paid basis. Blending my career experiences of working with people at all stages of life has enabled me to offer support with a wide range of challenges in the counselling room.

Together we can look to make sense of:

Body image anxiety
Challenge with change
Coping strategies
Disordered eating
Feeling stuck or overwhelmed
Grief and loss
Heavy emotions such as shame / guilt / anger / numbness
Identity issues
Impactful experiences
Lifestyle choices
Loneliness and isolation
Low self worth
Navigating stress and anxiety
Negative thinking and limiting beliefs
Nourishment
Relationship to self
Self-sabotaging behaviours
Self-soothing behaviours
Stages of transition
Student pressures and wellbeing
Unhelpful habits and repeating patterns

Together we can talk about what your hopes and goals for therapy are.

Together we can get to know and look to understand the parts of self that are potentially still repeating old patterns.

Together, over time, we will look to identify triggers, recognise reactions and understand these patterns of behaviour.

Together we will use therapeutic tools and supportive strategies to bring awareness, insight and understanding to your inner world experience.

Together we can look at how awareness can bring choice which creates space for change.

Together we can work compassionately with your unique experiences and empower you to move forward with purpose and a positive outlook.

I am particularly passionate about working disordered eating and with people who want to explore past and present relationships with their body, internalised beliefs and food. Leaning into the embodied somatic experience has led to much further study and I am currently in the final stages of completing the Master Practitioner Award with the National Centre for Eating Disorders.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration.
