About me

Hello and thank you for checking my profile out.

I have my qualification in person-centered counselling. I gained my Post graduate diploma from Strathclyde university in 2015. During my studies, I trained with Place2Be which gave me a passion for early intervention work with children. This also linked to my previous training of Child and education level 3 which I gained before having my own children.

During my time as Project manager/counsellor with Place2be I gained a lot of training/certificates around play therapy. I spent a few years working within Primary schools offering play therapy with children from Primary 1 to 7.

I continue this work managing a local counselling department which offers Play therapy and talking therapy to many children in their local area as well as reaching out to many primary schools in the surrounding area. I oversee 17 counsellors within the service and I am the designated safe guarding officer after gaining a certificate in level 3 Designated safe guarding lead. I still continue to provide Counselling sessions with children with a wide range of issues.

I gained a specialist module in bereavement in 2014 while supporting people within Cruse loss and bereavement.

In 2021, I gained my certificate in COSCA counselling supervision. This supports my work with supervising many counsellors on top of my management role.

I feel offering a confidential, supportive, caring environment helps open the opportunity for anyone to work through issues/past experiences that they may be trying to hide that then comes out in other behaviours or struggles in life.

I have started a parent/carer support for families that are struggling with issues arising in parenting/caring. I feel offering this support also helps children at home and life. I have seen an increase in families struggling with children who have additional support needs, needing emotional support.

I am currently offering Counselling in Stepps wellbeing room from age 5 years and up. I am also available to offer 16s/adult counselling to support in a wide range of issues that they may be having.

I am available to offer supervision to counsellors working with children and young people.

I offer a free initial telephone call to explore if I am the right person to support you or your loved one.
