About me
There are times when we may need support and understanding from someone other than our close friends and family. Someone who is warm and empathic who offers a confidential, quiet space to think and feel heard. For me, it’s all about listening, thinking and working together and offering understanding enabling clients to feel valued and heard without judgement.
In my practice I work with a wide range of emotional concerns including depression, anxiety, bereavement, ADHD, Autism, low self-esteem, OCD, anger management, relationship and family issues.
I offer daytime and evening sessions - face to face, zoom or telephone.
I'm also offering Walk and Talk Therapy which may feel more comfortable than a consulting room. I use a number of different walking environments and we can discuss which one is suitable, depending on your fitness level.
I have 15 years experience working for two local counselling services with adults and young people and I have worked as a school counsellor for over 6 years. I have also worked in a Financial organisation for over 30 years where I have met a wide range of people which has helped me become a more broad minded therapist and given me an understanding of the pressures and difficulties experienced in the workplace.
I recognise the need to facilitate the process of helping my clients repair damage caused by earlier and current experiences and offer conditions to help them love and believe in themselves to achieve acceptance and autonomy
In personal therapy, I offer boundaries of space and time, the qualities of a holding environment – containment. The emphasis on regularity and continuity helps my client feel safe which may very often be in contrast to their normal rules of social interaction and experiences with relationships through their life.
My aim in counselling is to give you the opportunity to feel understood and heard in your life, improve and explore your self- awareness, qualities and pathologies and to explore the way you perceive what you do and it’s meaning. Or maybe to help you work through any issues in order to become the best, happiest and more contented.
As a Registered and Accredited Member of BACP, I adhere to their ethical code of practice and confidentiality guidelines

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
