About me

Feeling overwhelmed and don’t know how to move forward? Feelings of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, sadness and many more can be difficult to work through and can often be hard to share with someone else. Many of us at one time or another experience situations that we find difficult to cope with. Feeling helpless and unable to cope can be an overwhelming experience. It doesn’t have to be this way; counselling can help you to move forward to a brighter place. I provide a calm, friendly and approachable ‘Person Centred’ counselling service, I offer a safe non-judgemental and confidential space where you can explore your individual needs and difficulties

I am a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) who are a professional standards body. Some areas I work in include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, sadness, bereavement and loss, abuse, self-harm, loneliness, work related bullying and stress, trauma, relationship breakdowns, family dysfunction and childhood difficulties. Counselling offers a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings, consider your options and get to know yourself a little better. It can help lead to positive change with increased self-confidence, self-esteem and the ability to face the future.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

If after this short introduction you decide to start the sessions we can then arrange a time and date to begin. I offer face-to-face, online or telephone sessions to suit your needs. You are in control of your therapy, how much time you need in therapy and when you want to end.
