About me

Thank you for visiting my profile and welcome!

A Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I believe that You know You best and that, with the right conditions - you feeling properly seen and heard by someone (me) who has no expectation, agenda or judgment - I can help you make sense of what you are going through; work on coping and grounding mechanisms, as well as focus on the future - or whatever you feel will be use/helpful for you.

I work from my bright and welcoming consultation room a couple of minutes walk from the railway station in Eastbourne. There is parking nearby, often right outside, should you come by car.

I offer Face-to-face, Online and Telephone Counselling sessions, but can also offer Walking sessions on Eastbourne seafront or on the South Downs. The benefits physical activity has on good psychological health and mental well-being are widely recognised and can help to reduce levels of stress, depression and anxiety.

I don’t diagnose or analyse you. My job as a counsellor is to help you become the best version of you and I welcome you, just the way you are.

I aim to provide you with a safe space where you can feel accepted, seen, heard and understood.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, registered member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - the professional association for members of the counselling professions in the UK.

Apart from my own private practice, I volunteer and work as a counsellor at a low cost counselling service in Hastings. This is generic counselling, where people come and see me to explore feelings and thoughts around anxiety, depression, relationship, bereavement and abuse issues.

I also volunteer and work for a charity that supports adult survivors of sexual abuse in childhood.

I did volunteer as a Bereavement Support volunteer at a hospice for 3 years, seeing people whose partner, mother, father, sibling, child, grandparent died and helping the bereaved make sense of it all - but ended there this year.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
