As a Relate-trained Relationship & Sex Therapist with extensive experience, I specialise in working with couples and individuals navigating the complexities of intimate relationships. Training, qualifications & experience
As a fully qualified Relate Trained Relationship Counsellor, my journey into counselling and therapy began during my studies in Psychology back in 2001.
I further honed my skills through comprehensive training with Relate at their esteemed Herbert Gray College in Rugby, Warwickshire. Relate, formerly known as the Marriage Guidance Council, is renowned as the largest provider of relationship support in the UK, imparting invaluable expertise and insights.
My professional background is enriched by diverse experiences that have shaped my role as a counsellor. I've served as a Support Worker for the National Autistic Society, supporting adults with autism to achieve independence in residential settings. Additionally, my tenure as a Student Support Progression Technician at East Kent College equipped me with the ability to guide and mentor a diverse group of students, both young and mature.
Prior to my counselling career, I embarked on a journey as a hairdresser, eventually owning and managing a successful salon with a team of eight stylists. This early career path instilled in me exceptional people skills, adeptness in communication, and the ability to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for others.
Drawing from this wealth of life experiences, I bring a unique perspective to counselling, allowing me to empathise with and appreciate the diverse challenges clients bring to therapy.
In addition to my Relate training, I am a member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy (COSRT), adhering to their rigorous Codes of Ethics and Practice. Furthermore, I hold a Registered Membership with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), ensuring adherence to their ethical guidelines. Continuous professional development is integral to my practice, as evidenced by my commitment to monthly supervisions and ongoing training to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.
All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
