About me

I am a registered and accredited member of UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) with over 25 years’ experience of helping clients.  I have worked for 16 years with complex bereavement, loss and end-of-life issues in the NHS and in private practice with a wide range of clients.

I work with a wide range of difficulties including grief, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties.  Things happen that can leave us feeling fearful or depressed; relationships can be a source of stress and painful emotions; we experience feelings of fear, loneliness, anxiety and anger.  The people around us are often not able to help and may even be part of the problem.

It’s not easy to ask for help - I understand that.  It’s important that you find the right person and someone you feel that you can work with.  That will help you get the most benefit from your therapy.

I bring together different approaches in my work incorporating humanistic, psychodynamic, analytic, behavioural, cognitive and transpersonal models to give a holistic approach to working with you.

Is it time you thought about therapy?

During difficult times, therapy is a way of getting help and support.  It gives you a place where you can talk about the things that you never talk about to anyone else.

Therapy helps you unravel your thoughts, gain some insight and understanding into what is happening and perhaps start to make changes.  It provides a space for you to find a way forward in your life and to be supported in that process.  It can be a way to deal with a particular crisis as well as a way to reflect on your life

What can I do and how do I work?

I can help you to look at what’s happening and work with you to find a way through things.

I am able to work both short-term and long-term, depending on your needs.  I can work with you more than once a week if you would find that helpful.

I have a lot of experience working with bereavement, loss and grief.  This includes anyone bereaved by suicide, murder, road accident, sudden and unexpected death.  I have also worked with miscarriage, stillbirth and termination.

I am also experienced working with people who have had difficulties in childhood that continue to affect them as adults. This may be as a result of abuse, bullying or other problems.

I have an interest in Jungian ideas but I am not a Jungian analyst.  I can help you to learn to live more consciously and to try to make better choices rather than reacting to life's circumstances out of fear, anger, depression or hurt.

I am also a BUPA/AXA-PPP recognised therapist.
