About me

I believe in your ability to turn around what may seem difficult or impossible situations in your life. My practice will help you understand these situations and then work with you to find a positive way forward.

I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist who is accredited with BABCP. This means that I am professionally monitored and adhere to a strict code of ethics. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy will enable us to work together to help you change how you think and behave. It is a way of helping you solve problems and improve the way you think and feel.

I am also a qualified supervisor, providing supervision to qualified and student counsellors from a range of modalities.
What to Expect

I can offer you a safe, confidential space to explore and reflect on emotional and behavioural issues. I have a non-judgemental, warm approach and work with people who have a range of issues including anxiety, stress, depression, self-harming behaviours and other mental health disorders. In addition I have particular knowledge and experience of working with people who have substance abuse problems.

We will work together short or longer term on the issues that you bring, identifying the areas you want to explore and changes you wish to make. I believe that therapy is new for every client and will take the time to establish a good therapeutic relationship and tailored way of working that is best suited to you as an individual.

Training, qualifications & experience

As part of my practice, I integrate other approaches where appropriate such as Schema Therapy, Person-centred and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

Having been a teacher for over 20 years, I have worked extensively with children, their families, carers and other health professionals. I have a particular interest in how early childhood experiences affect and influence the adults we become.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.
