About me

Are you feeling disappointed or struggling to cope with every day life?   I understand that life isn’t always “sunshine and roses“ and can at times feel the very opposite. Having a safe place to share your life can help bring freedom from the damaging emotions that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious and depressed.

Telling your nearest and dearest exactly how you feel may seem impossible and you may instead prefer to put on a brave face and say nothing. On the other hand, you may feel so alone with no one to talk to about what’s going on. If either of these are you, it would be my honour to offer you a cup of tea and more importantly a space to share your story.

You are worthy and I believe that when you are truly seen and understood, transformation is possible. This has been true in my own life, which I would be happy to disclose in our times together if requested. Sometimes it’s comforting to know that the counsellor we choose to trust with our issues is human and familiar with sadness, pain and loss.

I work with a broad spectrum of issues and would be open for us to have a free 15 minute telephone consultation where you can chat and ask questions to help you decide whether we could work together.

So whatever it may be, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, bereavement, anxiety or a life changing diagnosis, I am here for you to talk things through. I offer a warm and non-judgemental space to help you safely explore and discover your authentic self. If you feel that this may be of benefit to you at this time, then I warmly invite you to get in touch.

Sessions are carried out face-to-face in my own home meaning I have no room hire overheads which allows me to offer sessions for £30 which is hopefully a help during this cost of living crisis. Please don’t suffer in silence, life is better when we take the time to invest in ourselves.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 diploma in Therapeutic Counselling who has been practising for a number of years.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
