About me

I have been an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist since 2009. This approach means that together we will identify, explore and apply the most appropriate counselling process for your needs rather than focussing on one specific method.

Our work together can support you to gain a clearer understanding of your own thoughts and feelings. This can build, in time, to you developing strategies to manage when overwhelmed and in times of difficulty. We can also explore the root of beliefs and ideas that may have been detrimental to your wellbeing.

Life experiences and challenges are unique to us as individuals. Our work together will be personalised to your individual experience and needs in a respectful and understanding manner. I will invite you to share your experiences and support you in reflecting on them.

My intention through therapy is to safely empower you to deal with what life generates. There may be challenges along the way, however, I will provide a non-judgemental, confidential and safe space to support the emotions and experiences you bring to therapy.

We can arrange a FREE initial session, either by phone or online to discuss the possibility of working together, my terms and other practical issues. There is no obligation on either side to go further at this point and any agreement for working together would be reviewed regularly.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
